Dr Christoph Schlenzig
Christoph completed his doctorate in energy economics at the IER of the University of Stuttgart. With the platform for energy system models that he had developed, he founded the start-up Seven2one in 2001. For 20 years, Seven2one has been using this platform to successfully develop tailored software solutions for energy supply companies (EnBW, Eon, RWE, EEX, Axpo and municipal utilities). The focus is on the digital transformation of energy industry processes.
As the primary shareholder, Christoph moved from management to the Corporate Advisory Board of Seven2one in 2022. He also directs Seven2one’s research projects (including www.smart-east-ka.de), where he develops new innovative business models for smart energy neighbourhoods. He utilizes his experience for the benefit of young startup founders from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
As a passionate engineer, energy economist and ambassador for the energy transition, Christoph is committed to using renewable energies to make the energy supply sustainable in Germany. He is a founding member and board member of the Smart Grids Platform BW, a board member of the Karlsruhe energy network fokus.energie, and a member of the Energy Advisory Board of TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe TRK.
Christoph studied physics at TU Karlsruhe, energy management at TU Berlin, and systems engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle.
